About the Author

Rosie Hamilton has been testing software since 2005. Her career began in the UK games industry where she was lucky enough land a minimum wage job as a functionality tester working on original Xbox games. As time went by, people began to notice that she was rather good at finding defects in Xbox games and she was selected to lead the very first teams that tested launch titles for Xbox 360.

Her knowledge of the Xbox test process opened the door to working at a AAA games publisher where she gained exposure to other gaming platforms such as PC, PS3, Wii, DS and mobile phones. Following redundancy she spent time in Ireland working as a Games Master providing support to World of Warcraft players.

When she returned to the UK, she secured a testing job at games developer in the North East of England. After a few years, she became responsible for selection and training of new testers. Testing included website testing and also involved smart phones and tablets.

In 2014, she exited the games industry and stepped into the world of testing business software. Instead of testing TCRs and TRCs she started testing APIs and PHP. She currently works as an embedded Test Engineer devising exciting test solutions for shiny new web applications developed in JavaScript.

Rosie is exceptionally passionate and loves testing software. This blog is a collection of her thoughts.
